They became so popular they separated the pizzeria from the bakery and moved to Boston’s North End in 1974 eventually closing the bakery in 1988 to focus solely on the pizzeria. Housed in what can only be described as a cross between a cafeteria and a dining hall, Galleria Umberto is a lunch-only, bare-bones, humble little storefront that serves some of the best pizza not just in the Greater Boston area but perhaps all of New England.
